SAMAs return for 4th year and announce #DiscoverNewMusic
The Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMAs) are set to return for it’s fourth year, with this unique and interactive music award experience focusing on 42 regional nominees in 7 unique music categories.
This month saw the launch of #DiscoverNewMusic and announcement of the 2013 main sponsor as ‘Gorbals Sound Recording Studio‘. Paul Quinn, studio manager commented “Gorbals Sound are very proud and excited to be associated with the SAMA’s, we both follow the same ethos and aim for the same goals, we feel it’s a winning combination.”
10 December marked the launch of #DiscoverNewMusic – Where each week 5 new Scottish acts will be showcased on www.officialsama.co.uk.
#DiscoverNewMusic allows for new music fans, radio djs, promoters, festival bookers and anyone to find new music in an easy and fast way. The campaign will be supported from a national poster and flyer campaign, and is set to encourage people to find and share new Scottish music of different genres.
The SAMAs can only represent 42 unique artists each year in nominations, we feel this is a positive way to represent Scottish acts, and help push them to the next level
