goNORTH festival organisers are looking for photographers across all levels of experience to cover the goNORTH live showcases in Inverness on June 9 and 10. All submitted images will then go to a wider panel with the winning photographer securing a pass for Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
If you would like the opportunity to showcase your work to a wider audience and be the official goNORTH Stage photographer at one of the finest independent festivals in the country, please register your interest by emailing info@creativehi.com
goNorth was launched in 2001 to provide a platform for artists from the north of Scotland to showcase for music industry and media representatives on their own patch. Originally hosted in several venues on Aberdeen’s Belmont Street, we briefly relocated to Dundee, before settling in Scotland’s most northerly city, Inverness. The event has since developed into one of the country’s leading Creative Industries Festivals, celebrating our tenth anniversary last year with our most ambitious and successful event to date. This year we are looking forward to bringing together a wide selection of leading creative industry figures and delivering a world class programme of panels, workshops, industry screenings, training opportunities, Q&A sessions and a global marathon of live showcases.
We also recently announced some exciting changes to this year’s event; after five successful years programming new music at RockNess, we are taking goNORTH back to its roots in 2011 and supporting emerging talent at five of the finest independent festivals in the country, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, The Wickerman Festival, Loopallu, Summer In The City 2011 and Wizard Festival.
This development means that all acts selected to showcase at goNORTH 2011 will also get the opportunity to showcase at one or more of the independent festivals featured on the goNORTH Festival tour.
We are also touring a diverse selection of films made with our partners MG Alba, FilmG, The Scottish Documentary Institute, Digital Shorts and a host of exciting independent filmmakers across the Festival Tour.
In recent years goNORTH has featured an international array of talent spanning not only Scotland and the wider UK, but also the USA, Russia, Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Australia and Japan.
We pride ourselves on generating a dynamic and vibrant environment where organisations and individuals across all levels of experience can get together, make connections, share ideas and resources, and most importantly, have a really great time.
As always, all panels, worshops and live showcases are free and open to the public, with industry and media requested to register.
